Most Limits Are Assumptions, Not Facts
In 1954, running a mile in under four minutes was considered a physiological wall, something coaches and doctors genuinely believed the human body could not do. Roger Bannister broke it that May. Within weeks, a second runner did too. Nothing about human physiology changed between those two events. What changed was belief, and the training built around a new one.
Most limits are just the current best guess
This is not a story about willpower. It is a story about measurement. Bannister and his training partners studied pace, split times, and recovery with more rigor than most had before, and trained differently than the prevailing you-cannot consensus assumed. The wall was a limit of information, not biology.
Building tools instead of writing about it
It is easy to write a mission statement about pushing limits. It is harder, and more useful, to build the tools that actually let someone see, in their own data, where they are guessing instead of knowing: whether a recovery metric is trending down before it costs a fight camp, whether a supplement claim survives scrutiny, whether a piece of software actually does what it says before it ships.
That is the thread connecting everything in this lab. Different problems, same premise: most limits are assumptions nobody has tested with real data yet.
